I love making special dishes for my family when the holidays roll around. Moreover, it’s a great way to add just a little bit more holiday cheer to the season. I always make something special on Christmas morning. This year, I’ve decided to go with a recipe that my family will love – especially the kids! One that won’t keep me in the kitchen all morning. That’s why I’m making Gingerbread Overnight Quaker Oats. They’re the classic overnight oats we love, but they have all the great flavors of the holiday season that we look for this time of year.

Firstly, Quaker Oats have become a staple in our home. They’re incredibly versatile, and serve as a nutritious blank canvas to inspire creativity. That’s an excellent combo when you stop and think about all the possibilities that oats have. Of course, you can make oatmeal for breakfast.

However, they’re also great in smoothies, as a binder in classic dishes and in bread. We can’t forget that classic that we all love – oatmeal cookies. When coupling their versatility with the fact that they’re 100% whole grain, we get a food that can be used for almost anything! Ultimately, it gets more nutrition out of what we eat each day .

A 1/2 cup of raw oats is a good source of vitamins and minerals like vitamin B1, magnesium, phosphorus, and manganese; have 2 grams of soluble fiber; and contain insoluble fiber, as well. The oats used in each variety of Quaker Oats–Old Fashioned , Quaker Instant Oats, Quaker Quick Oats, and Quaker Steel Cut Oats – are 100% whole grain and ounce per ounce, provide similar amounts of fiber, vitamins and minerals.

Old Fashioned Oats are traditional rolled oats, and they take about 5 minutes on the stovetop or 2 1/2 to 3 minutes in the microwave. Instant Oats are finely cut and cook up in only 90 seconds in the microwave. Moreover, Quick Oats are rolled and cut to cook in one minute on the stovetop or 1 1/2 to 2 minutes in the microwave.

Finally, Quaker’s Steel Cut Oats are cut but not rolled to give them a heartier texture. They take about 25 to 30 minutes to cook on the stovetop, and the Quick 3-Minute Steel Cut Oats are ready in only 3 minutes.

These overnight oats are super easy to make, and they have great holiday flavors we love like ginger and cloves.

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 Cup Quaker Quick 1 Minute Oats
  • 1/2 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk (or Oat Milk)
  • 1/2 Cup Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • Pinch of Ground Cloves
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Maple Syrup

Directions:

  1. In a bowl or jar, mix the oats, almond milk, and yogurt together.
  2. Add the cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and maple syrup and stir until everything is well-mixed. Cover and refrigerate overnight. I like to scoop them in individual sized mason jars.
  3. Serve the following morning with fresh fruit, nuts, coconut, and dried fruit if desired.

I agree with you! Also, we use the same Quacker Oats, way better than other brands. We find this very satisfying 🙂
